Discovery Camp focuses on performing and visual arts. Activities include drama, dance, and fine arts.
Campers choose their 2 programs by the first Wednesday of the session. Every day, 4 out of the 7 periods (90 minutes in both the morning and afternoon) will be devoted to campers’ 2 favorite specialty areas. Plus, campers will get a daily instructional swim lesson and participate in 1 traditional camp activity, such as archery, boating, or field games.
Morning specialty areas:
- Drama Acting skills, character development, scriptwriting, set development, speech. Campers will conclude each session by producing a final show for parents and fellow campers.
Afternoon specialty areas:
- Dance
No prior training necessary, just enthusiasm. Explore contemporary and folk moves—dance recital for parents at session’s conclusion. - Fine arts
Learn design and color concepts in a variety of media. Work on set design for the final show.
